ATHLETICS
Students in grades 5-8 are invited to participate in
several sports activities sponsored by the St. Mary’s Athletic Association.
Our teams include girls’ volleyball, boys' and girls’
basketball, and a basketball cheerleading squad. We are part of the Kettle
Moraine League, comprised of area Catholic schools of similar size. Parents
of students in the program are asked to help with supervision of these
events as well as fund-raising activities for the program.
Students in grades 7-8 are also invited to participate
in football, track, and cross country through the Mayville and Horicon
Middle Schools.
FORENSICS
St. Mary School offers a
forensics program for students in grades 6-8. Students are coached in the
art of public speaking in such categories as demonstration, storytelling,
prose reading, oratory, solo acting, group acting, and others. Students
participate in area forensics competition, culminating with the WFCA state
forensics tournament held each March at UW-Oshkosh. St. Mary School
sponsors a state-qualifying forensics festival in February.
BAND
Students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to participate
in the Horicon
Middle School
or Mayville Middle School Band. These programs are usually offered at
either the end or the beginning of the school day. Parents provide
transportation to the Public School for these activities.
